Wedding cakes are as different as each bride! Selecting your wedding cake takes time. Once you find your design, schedule a meeting with your wedding cake planner. You will need to provide the planner with the number of people attending your reception along with the date, time, and location. If you plan on colored decorations on your cake, provide your planner with a sample of your colors. Do you have a special flower design for your wedding cake? Discuss the design and availability of the flowers. Decide on the flavor of your cake and the type of cake icing such as buttercream or fondant.
If you have all the information prepared months or even a year in advance, you can obtain quotes from different bakers. Please note, a lot of wedding cake bakers get booked almost a year in advance!
You will want to find out if the cake price includes delivery and setup. Depending on the design, you may be required to pay a deposit on the cake stands.
Oh ! and don't forget your wedding cake topper!! If your wedding cake planner does not offer any wedding cake toppers, search the internet.
